Palaver press is a small but expanding Publishing House. It was founded 2018 by a group of literary critics, poets, authors and translators in Lund, Sweden and is directed by Pernilla Ståhl. We publish six to eight titles a year, of which two are poetry and one a Palaver classic. Having spent a lot of time abroad discovering great authorships and from parts of the world that other Swedish Publishing Houses tend to neglect, we focus on introducing these authorships in Sweden.
We also have an interest in introducing forgotten classical works by female authors, such as Anna Maria Ortese´s Il mare non bagna Napoli. But first and foremost, we like a good read and each of our titles is carefully selected and taken care of. In collaboration with Cultural Institutions and Art Galleries we arrange literary events. All of our titles have received excellent media coverage.
Authors published by us in Swedish include internationally well-known writers as Amitav Ghosh, Nnedi Okorafor, Jan Zwicky, Hope Mirrlees, and many more to come.
